December Competition Updates
Christmas Jumper Day Texas Scramble - 11th December
This will be a charity ‘Christmas Jumper Day Texas Scramble’, with mixed teams of 3 (9 holes) played from yellow and red tees. Entry will be £5.00/head (cash on the day), all of which will be donated to Save the Children. And this year, we are adding an extra twist...
Only the scores from six 'mystery' holes will count towards the final results! These 'mystery' holes will only be revealed after everyone has finished, adding an element of surprise to this competition. Christmas Jumpers and/or festive accessories are encouraged and there will be a prize for the best dressed player!
Tee times will be drawn but please pick and enter your own team (members only, handicap index required, non-qualifying). Teams can be mixed but this is not a requirement for entry. Entries for this competition open tonight (19th November) at 18:00 online via IG.
We will also be having a charity cake stand too, so if you'd like to bring some sweet treats or baked goods along with you (even if you’re not taking part in the competition), as they say, the more the merrier! If you would like to bring a culinary creation with you on the day, please email manager@basset-down.com simply saying 'CAKE' so we can keep track of roughly how many to expect.
Turkey Trot - 21st December
- 9-hole stableford
- Open to all members with an official handicap (non-qualifying)
- Women – red tees / men – yellow tees
- No set tee times as will be a ‘roll up’ style throughout the day using member tee times
- On the day, please sign up for the competition on the electronic tablet by reception
- Competition slots must have a minimum of 2 players and a max of 3 players entering the competition
- Entry is £3.00 (cash only on the day) with 1st-6th place festive prizes given
- Results will be published the day after the competition
Mid-Week Competitions
Due to popular demand, we have made all remaining mid-week competitions from now until the end of March the stableford format (i.e. rather than a combination of medals and stablefords). We have also added in two additional mid-week stablefords in December on 4th and 18th.
