Basset Down Complex is close to Junction 16 M4, Swindon. Family run with a fun, hardworking team delivering excellent food and customer service in an amazing setting Located just minutes off J16 M4 (between Bath and Reading). Sitting between Royal Wootton Bassett, Swindon, and Marlborough. During 2021 we expanded our facilities adding two beautiful function rooms, a large contemporary, ‘country feel’ restaurant, bar, and multiple lounge areas offering family meals, drinks with friends, relaxed brunches, lunches, and suppers. We also have a large south facing balcony and patio areas.

Senior Chef de Partie

The restaurant at Basset Down Complex is independently run and serves freshly cooked, seasonal food in a contemporary rustic environment, with beautiful views over the North Chalk Downs. All this just a few minutes from Junction 16 M4. Easily commutable from Marlborough, Cirencester & Chippenham.

As our business continues to grow and covers increase, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Chef de Partie to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position.

What does our ideal candidate look like?

Our ideal Senior Chef de Partie has at least two years relevant experience in a rosette setting, looking for a new role where they can learn and grow in knowledge and confidence and be part of a strong team. You will need to have relevant experience working in a fast-paced kitchen with a variety of menus and on different sections using fresh ingredients.

The Role

Our kitchen is modern and well equipped. Our Head Chef is incredibly passionate about what he does and open to new ideas. He has had experience working with well-known chefs, helping to deliver two rosettes in one year and being recognised in the Big Food Guide. As a Senior Chef de Partie here, you would have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a similar high-end restaurant.

This role requires the right candidate to:

  • Demonstrate creativity and passion for fresh food preparation from scratch, Ensure high attention to detail across all prep work.
  • Have the ability to quickly learn new recipes and new cooking methods.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
  • Actively contribute to the team. Be inquisitive and creative.
  • Have excellent communication skills and a solid work ethic to complement our team.
  • Keep a calm and driven response to all levels of service.
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including workstations and equipment.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and ensure all food is stored properly.
