Friday evenings just got even better here at Basset Down! We’re delighted to introduce our brand-new Steak Night, available every Friday from 5:30–9:00pm in the restaurant from 5th September!

Christmas Market 

We’re delighted to announce the return of our much-loved Christmas Market at Basset Down and this year it’s bigger than ever! Due to high demand, the event will take place across two dates this year:

• Evening Market – Friday 28th November, 17:00 - 21:00
• Daytime Market – Saturday 29th November, 11:00 - 16:00

Set in our beautifully decorated upstairs function room, our Christmas Market is the perfect opportunity for local crafters and small businesses to showcase their products in a warm and festive setting.

Stallholders can choose to participate in either one of the market dates or book for both, subject to availability.

Please note we operate a ‘non-competing’ market, and therefore do not have duplicate products available for sale. Application deadline: Saturday 31st August. Sip & Paint Workshops - new date coming soon 

Set against our beautiful countryside backdrop, this event invites you to explore your artistic side while enjoying a drink in great company. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned artist, our friendly, skilled instructor will guide you step-by-step as you create your very own masterpiece. Each session is designed to be fun, welcoming, and pressure-free—perfect for a night out with friends, a date, or even some well-earned solo time.

We’ll be tackling a new themed painting each session—so no two nights are ever quite the same!

What to expect:

• Artist-led instruction in a relaxed environment
• All materials provided, including aprons
• Drinks available throughout the evening*
• A finished piece of art to take home and be proud of
• The chance to meet like-minded people and enjoy a fun, social evening out

Whether you're joining us for the first time or you're a returning painter, our Sip And Paint nights are all about creativity, community, and good times. Spaces are limited—book your place today for £35/head and let your creativity flow at Basset Down!

*Please note that drinks are NOT included in the workshop price. We have a heavy emphasis on sipping to encourage a relaxed and creative environment as opposed to a formal art/painting class. All drinks must be purchased from our on-site licensed bar.
