Upcoming Prospect Hospice Events

We’re pleased to share an update on two upcoming community fundraising events in support of Prospect Hospice. As a club, the Prospect has been one of our chosen charities for over 10 years, and we are keen to increase the ways in which we support them moving forward. Below are details of both their upcoming Men’s Walk to Support and Starlight Walk events. We would love for our team and members to get involved - whether that's by taking part, fundraising, or cheering others on.

Men’s Walk to Support 2026 - Saturday 18th April

This eight-mile walk begins at Prospect Hospice in Wroughton and finishes at Swindon Town FC’s County Ground. It’s an opportunity for men and boys in our community to walk side by side, support one another, and raise vital funds for hospice care locally. We would like to pull together a Basset Down team of people to participate and do the walk together. 

What You Need to Know

• Date: Saturday 18 April 2026
• Start: Prospect Hospice, Wroughton
• Finish: Swindon Town FC County Ground
• Distance: 8 miles
• Registration Fee: £28
• Suggested Fundraising Target: Minimum £50pp
• Who Can Take Part: Men and boys aged 8+
• Registration includes a free event t-shirt, food and drink at the finish, and entry to the Swindon Town home match that day

Next Steps

• Add your name to the sign-up sheet on the noticeboard if you’d like to join the Basset Down team (open to men and boys aged 8+, friends/family welcome to join too)
• Once we have numbers, we’ll circulate the registration link
• If there’s enough interest, we’ll create a group fundraising page and WhatsApp group to share updates 
• We hope many of you will consider getting involved in supporting Prospect Hospice this year - together we can make a real difference in our local community.

Starlight Walk 2026 - Saturday 27th June 

We are also hoping to enter a Ladies Team for Prospect Hospice’s Starlight Walk 2026, taking place on Saturday 27 June 2026.

This 10km or 15km evening walk through Swindon is a special and uplifting event, bringing women together to walk in memory of loved ones while raising vital funds for local hospice care. It’s always a fantastic atmosphere, filled with music, sparkle and community spirit.

What You Need to Know

• Date: Saturday 27 June 2026
• Start: 7.30pm from The Deanery CE Academy
• Distance: 10km or 15km
• Registration Fee: £22 (Early Bird £15 until 31st March)
• Open to all women, including any friends and family too
• Suggested Fundraising Target: Minimum £50pp

• Add your name to the sign-up sheet on the notice board if you’re interested
• Please indicate on the sign up sheet if you would prefer the 10k or 15k route 
• Once we have an idea of numbers, we’ll share the official registration link
• If there’s enough interest, we’ll set up a group fundraising page and WhatsApp group
